Baby Girl E {Indianapolis/Chicago Newborn Photographer}

I feel so blessed to have been able to photograph so many newborns.  When I was contacted by this little girls momma asking if I could come photograph their newborn out of state I was more than honored.   Each and every newborn I photograph is special to me and this baby girl was well worth the drive! She was stunning!  Perfect skin, gorgeous thick hair and long lashes.  :)

This little girl was not so newborn when I went to photograph her, she was actually 1 month old.  The moment I stepped into their home it was like walking into photographers heaven and I instantly knew how I wanted to capture this special time for them!  Not only is their home gorgeous but you can absolutely see how over the moon they are for their sweet baby girl! :)

How Portraiture saved my life!

Ok, so maybe I’m being a tad dramatic but I debated on getting Portraiture for so long and I thought this might help someone who is on the fence and wants to speed up their workflow.  For those of you who don’t know me I have four very small children at home so my time spent editing is limited.  I used to use a free action called baby powder room and while it is a great and free action it just takes longer.  You have to brush one the softening to the skin slowly (unless you like plastic babies) and then sharpen details like the eyes.  I wanted something faster that could leave me more time to spend with my kids.  I’ve been using Portraiture for a few months now and I LOVE it!  When I researched before the only people I could find using it seemed to have a smoother look and I like to see some of the details in newborns. I didn’t want to get rid of the fuzz or wrinkles!  The biggest thing is you have to put it on a new layer! So I make a new layer, run portraiture, erase it off the eyes, mouth and any other areas I don’t want soft, drop the opacity to around 40-50%  and then flatten. I then quickly sharpen the eyes and mouth and I’m done!  (well aside for a few more edits but the skin is smooth)  I hope this helps someone else who may be sure if they will like it or not! If you have any other questions please feel free to email me via the contact form!
